Members of Epilepsy Association of Sierra Leone enjoying Action Zone.
Action Zone, the board game developed by UCB Pharma in collaboration with IBE as a fun way of educating children and teenagers about epilepsy, has reached the finals of the pharmaceutical industry Communiqué Awards. The awards recognise and reward excellence in public relations and medical education. The category for which the game has been selected is Best Internatioanl Public Relations Campaign.
The Awards Ceremony will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel (Park Lane, London) on the evening of Thursday July 10th. IBE will be represented at this prestigious “black-tie” event, along with over 1,000 other people representing industry, agencies and lay associations.
While Action Zone is facing stiff competition from other finalists, we have our fingers crossed that, when the results are announced, there will be some recogition for this great educational initiative.
To date over 46,000 units of the game have been circulated free of charge to IBE member associations and to others interested in using the game to educate young people about epilepsy. A limited number of Action Zone games are still available, free of charge, on a first come, first served basis. Requests for the game should be sent to the IBE Office .
