The Foundation for the Rehabilitation of people with Epilepsy (FIRE) is a nonprofit institution created in 1975 by Colombian League against Epilepsy and the Cartagenas community, to offer integral support to people with Epilepsy and others associate disorders and incapacities.
The aim of this project is to help people with epilepsy and their families. It is called HOMECLINIC and consists in creating a welcoming space, where pupils develop basic activities of daily life such as independence in dressing, feeding, bathing and everyday activities. The general purpose is to educate with dignity, regardless of the physical or mental health, using individual and group activities, involving the family and community and to improve the quality of life for the pupils, for the family and for the social environment.
This program is for children with epilepsy and associate syndromes. The program population includes an age group between 4 and 10 years of age.
The project will receive US$5,000 from the Promising Strategies Program.
