IBE Jubilee Celebrations
A range of other activities were planned for the 29th International Epilepsy Congress in Rome to mark the celebration of the IBE Jubilee:
IBE Members Poster Display
Following on the positive reaction to the IBE Poster Displays in previous congresses, IBE repeated the exercise this year during the 29th International Epilepsy Congress in Rome. This initiative promoted the work and achievements of IBE Members. To make this year’s Poster Display extra special, IBE received contribution from over 100 IBE members. This created an impressive display of all IBE members’ activities, initiatives and plans for the future.

IBE History
The International Bureau for Epilepsy was founded 50 years ago in the city of Rome. To mark this celebration during the 29th International Epilepsy Congress in Rome, IBE launched the IBE History booklet, compiled by Hanneke De Boer and with design and layout by Susanne Lund and Ann Little. IBE Milestone walkway
During the congress, participants had the opportunity to visit the Milestone Walkway – an inspiring exposition highlighting the purpose and goals of the International Bureau for Epilepsy during the past 50 years.
Special event for Ambassadors for Epilepsy
The Ambassador awards for Epilepsy were first introduced by IBE to recognise those dedicated people who had made a significant contribution in the field of epilepsy. As a result, IBE decided to organise a special event during the 29th International Epilepsy Congress in Rome to celebrate the efforts of all those who have received the award since it was first introduced. Over 100 Ambassadors attended this special private event which took place on Monday 29th August 2011.
To commemorate this event, a special booklet was also created to honour all Ambassadors for Epilepsy. Click here to download this booklet.
