I am honored to be appointed Chair, IBE Western Pacific Regional Executive Committee and thank the IBE members for voting for me.
We must develop closer relationships in the region and I will work hard to coordinate IBE activities, identify regional issues and to raise epilepsy awareness. Regional Executive Committee colleagues and I will build on the excellent work of previous executives.
After the International Epilepsy Congress in Paris in September 2006, the Asian Oceanian Regional Committee divided into the South East Asia Regional Committee and the Western Pacific Regional Committee. Since then, China, Mongolia and Philippines have become new Full Members in the Western Pacific Region…

Every IBE Full and Associate Member belongs to a Regional Committee, with the region determined closely in line with the WHO regional boundaries. At the present time IBE has 10 Full (voting) Members and 7 Associate (non-voting) Members in the Western Pacific Region.
