About the Regional Committee

Every IBE Full and Associate Member belongs to a Regional Committee, with membership determined closely in line with the WHO regional boundaries. The South East Asia Region is one of the smallest regions and comprises the following:

  • Bangladesh
  • Bhutan
  • Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Maldives
  • Myanmar
  • Nepal
  • Sri Lanka
  • Thailand
  • Hong Kong (Special Administrative Region of China)

In April 2008 IBE had 7 Full Members and 2 Associate Members in this region.

Members of the Regional Committee South East Asia voted during 2006 to elect its Regional Executive Committee, which acts as the liaison point for members in the region and which is also charged with drawing up a plan of activities, with reference to members, and with arranging regular meetings of its members.
