Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to inform you that the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Committee, of IBE has newed his executive committee since June 25th 2009.

The members elected are :

Chair: Prof Najib Kissani, Morocco
Vice Chair: Mrs Asma Enright, Saudi Arabia
Secretary: Dr Chahnez Triki, Tunisia.

The main goals of our bureau are:

• The enlargement of the membership in our region, 5 full members actually, from 20 countries, countries like, Syria, Jordan, Qatar, Algeria, Lybia, UAE, Iran and Palestine are already in touch with us;
• Establishment of a good relationship between the associations (IBE representative) and the different leagues (ILAE representative), in each country;
• Sharing all good experiences in the region (many examples in the 5 countries already represented);
• *Organizing the 2nd CEMA meeting in Dubai (UAE), in March 2010, and focus on other regional meeting in countries without chapters, the funding could be assured locally and small part from regional budget;

Hope that together, we can help each other, share all our intersting experinces, better collaborate; and the final result should be a better education and good quality of life for our epileptic patients in our large region.
