The congress was successful academically and in terms of attendance. The Latin American Committee met on 8th November with the following attendees:

The main topics were as follows:
A brief report was made about the Latin American Committee meeting, which took place in Santiago de Chile between 17th and 18th May during the 55 anniversary of the Chilean League Against Epilepsy. In this meeting a review was made of the Programm presented in Paris and future meetings were scheduled such as a meeting in Montevideo and the joint meeting with the ILAE Latin American Committee, taking place on the 7/11/08.

It was given information about the joint meeting of the IBE and ILAE Latin American Committees which took place on 7/11/08:
1. Report of the activities of IBE Latin American Committee;
2. Report of the activities of ILAE Latin American Committee;
3. ALADE Situation, Comisión of Education;
4. Future Epilepsy Congresses;

There was also a discusión about posible future members Duch as Domenican Republic and Paraguay. During the congreso, further progress was made with Bolivia, Honduras and Costa Rica.

Mike Glynn, IBE Treasurer, discusses the projects and which are the general politics in order to aprobé them, emphasising the importance of a god reputation and trust in the people who represents them. At the moment, there are projects in Argentina, Ecuador and Guatemala. These projects will be sent to other projects, in order to serve as an example.

Dr. Carlos Acevedo reports the regional activities of Latin America, pointing out:
a) His role as a link of communication between the IBE Executive Committee and the region;
b) He is the editor of the International Epilepsy News, with a section in Spanish and the possibility to have it also in Portuguese;
c) The good relationship with the ILAE Latin American Committee;

The Congress in Budapest is also mentioned for which the deadline for submitting topics ends in December 2008.

Dr. Acevedo presents his re-candidature to the Vice Presidency of Latin American Region of the IBE Executive Committee. Mike Glynn, present in the meeting and currently treasurer of the IBE explains the program of his candidature to the Presidency of IBE. The candidate Dr. Covanis from Greece, is a doctor and the CVs were by both to the IBE presidency.

Dr. Núñez points out that the misión of the IBE Latin American Committee is at an end and there Hill be new elections at the beginning of 2009 for the Regional Executive Committee 2009-2012 (tour years). The direction of the the IBE Latin American Committee intends to resend the candidature to the elections.

Each country present gives a report of their activities during the year.
